As a Boilermaker/Welder, your primary focus is precise fabrication of Light/Mid steelwork in accordance with specifications, details and drawings.
Your responsibilities will also include:

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner.
- General boilermaker/Welder duties including use of:
- cropper
- oxyacetylene equipment
- MiG and arc welder
- power hack saw
- drop saw
- drill press
- stud machine
- band saws
- cold saw
- Forklift operation (if licensed)
- Maintain and use equipment as designed.
- Ensure that work is performed as per the tasks/requirements in the Work Pack
- Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time.
- Daily time cards are completed accurately and on time.
- Follow Company policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
The formal education and experience for the Boilermaker job description include but not limited too
- Relevant Trade qualified – Boilermaker/Welder
- Forklift License
- Mandatory experience – 5 years + in heavy Structural steel welding

studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
- Must be prepared to undertake additional training as required
- Is expected to work outside normal working hours on occasions
